PLAYER PROFILE  

Juniors: played 3 seasons of junior hockey in both Portland and Prince Albert/WHL with a 57-62-11 record and 4.99 GAA in 139 career games.

1991-92: Split his first professional season between three teams and two leagues...Began the season in Hampton  Roads/ECHL, playing ten games before moving up to the AHL with New Haven and Baltimore.

1992-93: Spent most of the season in Baltimore /AHL with a 16-20-7 record...Recalled once to Washington playing one minute in relief in his first NHL game, Nov. 11 at the NY Rangers with no decision.

1993-94: Spent most of the season in Portland /AHL where he went 24-16-4...Named an AHL First Team All-Star and shared the Harry Holmes Trophy for lowest team goals against average.. Won a Calder Cup with the Pirates...Played five games in Washington, including his first NHL start, a 3-0 loss to Philadelphia Oct 15 and his first NHL win, a 6-3 victory in Chicago Mar 31.

1994-95: Began the season Washington's AHL affiliate in Portland/AHL before being loaned to Phoenix/IHL where he spent most of the season. Set Phoenix club records for games, minutes, wins and shutouts and started 17 straight games from Oct 7-Nov 22. Finished 4th in the IHL in wins. Also had two stints in Portland/AHL. Recalled twice to Washington, playing in three games from Feb 14-28 and in one game Mar 30.

1995-96: Played his first full NHL season and led Kings goaltenders in games and wins...Recorded his first NHL shutout with a 1-0 win in St. Louis Nov 7...Led all league rookie goaltenders ingames. Opened the season with a six-game unbeaten at 3-0-3. Faced 58 shots in a 2-2 tie at Toronto Oct 28...Allowed a penalty shot goal by
Calgary's Steve Chaisson Dec 11.

1996-97: Played in his second full NHL season. Played in 40 Kings games with a 13-17-5 record and 3.11 GAA with a .905 save percentage. Hislongest consecutive games-played stretch was
seven games between Mar 15-30. Allowed two goals or fewer in 17 of his complete games. Won four consecutive starts from Oct 29-Nov 17  
1997-98: Acquired from Los Angeles with Dimitri Khristich for Jozef Stumpel, Sandy Moger, and a 1998 fourth-round draft pick (Pierre Dagenais), Aug 27 1997. Established career season highs in games played and wins with a 30-25-9 record and 2.24 GAA in 65 games. Was the first Bruins goaltender to win 30 games since 1993-94, and his six shutouts were the most by a Boston goalie since 1982-83. Allowed two goals or fewer in 37 of 64 decisions.  
1998-99: Established career season bests in all categories as he earned a Second Team All-Star berth and was named a finalist for the Vezina Trophy. Became just the fourth goaltender in Bruins history to finish a season with a GAA under 2.00 and the first since Frank Brimisk finished the 1938-39 campaign at 1.58. Was just the fourth goaltender in team history to record ten shotouts in a season as well as and first since Brimsek notched ten in both 1935-36. Led the league in shotouts (10), was second in save percentage (.926), third in goals against average and tied for fourth overall in wins (32). Allowed two or less in 43 of his 65 complete games. Was named athe NHL Player of the Month for April with a 6-0-0 record in that span. Won his first career playoff series with a six-game Conference Quarter-Final series victory over Carolina, including his second and third career playoff shutouts with 2-0 victories Apr. 22 in game one and May 2 in the deciding game six.  
1999-2000 Finished his ninth professional season, his third with the Bruins. Allowed 2 goals or less in 19 of his 35 complete games. Had a 3 game win streak from Nov 11-18. Had consecutive wins on 3 other occasions Nov 22-24, Dec 13-17 and Jan 19-20. Had a 5 game unbeaten streak from Jan 13-20. Earned points 26 out of his 39 games played. Notched his 18th career shutout with a 2-0 blanking of Phoenix Dec 13. Recorded his 19th career shutout with a 0-0 tie vs Buffalo Jan 13. It was his 4th career scorless tie. Registered his 20th career shutout with a 1-0 win over Buffalo Jan 29. Now has 19 career shutouts as a Bruin tying him with Hal Winkler for sixth place on the Bruins all-time shutout list. Earned his 100th NHL victory with a 3-1 win Dec 17 at Atlanta. Dressed as backup for 5 games. Missed the first 12 games of the season before signing a new contract on Oct 29. Missed 23 games with injury, right knee surgery.  
2000-2001 Recorded 20 plus wins for the 3rd strait time in the last 4 seasons. Allowed 2 goals or less in in 26 of his 38 games. Started 25 games strait from Dec 16- Feb 10 with a 13-7-3 & 2.11 GAA in that span. Had 2 shutouts on the season, numbers 21 and 22 career, 4-0 over Toronto on Dec 21 & 3-0 in Toronto on Mar 28. Faced his second career penalty shot Jan 9th, stopping Pittsburgh's Martin Straka. Had 2 four game streaks (Jan 9-16, Jan 24-30). Played his 300th NHL game Feb 1st vs Montreal. Missed 36 Games with separate injuries to both hamstrings and his knee. Finished his 10th professional season, his 4th with the Bruins.  
2001-2002 Finished 4th amoung league goaltenders in wins 35. Hit the 30 plus win mark for the 3rd time in his career and established a new career season-high in Victories with 35. Allowed 2 goals or fewer in 41 of his 62 completed games. Had 4 shutouts on the season, numbers 23-26 career. Is now in 5th place on the Bruins all-time shutout list with 25 as a Bruin. Had a 6 game unbeaten streak Jan26-Feb12, had a 4 game winning streak Mar19-26, had 6 3 game winning steaks. Recorded 1 assist and 27 penalty minutes on the season. Earned his 100th win as a Bruin. Moved into 5th place on the Bruins all-time list for both games (283) and minutes (16,365) played by a goaltender.  
   2002-2003 Missed final 25 games with a sports hernia, six games with a groin strain from Jan 15-25 and 4 games from Dec 23-30 and 2 games from Jan 3-5 with a sore groin. Made 26 saves to help team post its first-ever win at New Jersey on Feb 8. Missed 6 games with a groin strain from Jan 15-25. Won his 4th game of season but injured his groin and left in second period in a 7-3 win at Philadelphia on Jan 13. Posted a 1-0-1 record with a 2.30 GAA and a .929 save percentage in 2 consecutive starts from Jan 7-9. Stopped 30 of 32 shots in a 3-2 overtime victory at Tampa Bay on Jan 9. Notched a season-high 37 saves and matched his season high with 40 shots faced against Carolina on Dec 20. Faced a season high 40 saves at Boston on Dec 5. Posted a 2 game winning streak from Nov 28-Dec 1, posting a 4.00 GAA and a .867 save percentage. Made 24 saves in Thrashers debut in a 3-2 loss at Montreal on Nov. 26/
